Ep34: The Rest Revolution: Worthiness, Work, and Sustainable Success For Entrepreneurs

We live in a culture that glorifies more—faster launches, bigger goals, fuller calendars.
And, somewhere along the way, rest became a luxury.

For ambitious women leading purpose-driven businesses, rest is less about naps or massages (although those are nice too!). It’s about releasing the belief that your value is tied to your productivity. It’s about remembering that who you are—outside of what you do—is already enough.

When Achievement Becomes Identity

Many women step into entrepreneurship with a deep desire to create, serve, and lead. Yet, without realizing it, their sense of self becomes fused with their business outcomes. A successful launch means I’m doing well. A slow season means I must be failing.

This unconscious equation—results = worthiness—creates a burnout loop that’s hard to escape.

Because when the business wobbles, so does your sense of self.

True maturity as a CEO begins when you learn to separate who you are from what you produce. When you stop needing your business to validate your enoughness, you finally lead from steadiness instead of survival.

Rest as a Worthiness Practice

As Soulful CEO Path Guest, Heather Boersma, said in EP34 – rest isn’t passive. It’s a radical act of trust.
Not just trust that the business will keep moving, but trust that you still hold value even when you’re not doing.

Being at rest with your worthiness is the deep inner knowing that your existence, not your output, is what gives you value. When you rest from that place, your nervous system softens, creativity returns, and your leadership expands.

The Power of Inner Integration

To create sustainable success, Heather Boersma, uses the trifecta of integration: mindset, emotional processing, and nervous system regulation.

Because ambition without regulation leads to anxiety.
And presence without strategy leads to stagnation.

When your mind, body, and emotions move in harmony, you stop oscillating between burnout and apathy—and instead find a rhythm of grounded expansion. It’s not about slowing down forever; it’s about knowing when to exhale so you can expand again.

Living From Worthiness, Not For It

One of Heather’s most powerful revelations came when she realized she had been living for significance instead of from it. Every speaking gig, every launch, every achievement was an attempt to prove she mattered.

Until one day, someone asked her:

“What if you already are significant?”

That question changed everything.

She began building her business from a foundation of worth, not toward it.
And that single shift transformed not just how she worked—but who she became while working.

Expansion Without Exhaustion

Growth doesn’t have to come at the cost of your peace.

In fact, real expansion requires it. The most sustainable leaders understand that their seasons of contraction—rest, reflection, recalibration—aren’t setbacks. They’re sacred pauses that make future growth possible.

Like a flower blooming in slow motion, expansion and contraction are both essential rhythms of evolution. So instead of resisting rest, let it be your teacher. Let it show you where your worth has been misplaced. Let it remind you that slowing down is not weakness—it’s wisdom.
